Sun is acquiring StorageTek in a deal worth approximately $4.1 billion.
Nice pointer to the Sun press release, but I think it’s more interesting to ask the question of what’s in this for Sun. I realize that this is a good deal for StorageTek but I’m not at all sure that this helps Sun move into the 21st century.

Ah why would Sun buy StorageTek — not so hard to understand. Sun wants to use StoargeTek products with their Cobalt line of servers.
