They were. I plugged in the _other_ machine I brought home from
storage and...no explosion. I conjecture that the one machine's C10112
had failed shorted probably from age. I may see if I can find another
of the same machine to read the markings on C10112 and see if just
replacing it helps. (I had something slightly similar happen with a
printer; in that case, replacing the cap fixed it.)
Unfortunately, no work, either. Port A says
PROM Checksum test
Context Reg Test
Segment Map Test
Sizing Memory
Page Map Test
Page Map Test
Memory Test
Bad memory: Data line test:
 EXP: 00000001 ACT: 80ff8081 PADDR: 00fec000
                                            Try changing U0502
If I have a SIMM in U0502, I get the above, sometimes with a few bits
different, but always with a recommendation that I change U0502, with
the same incorrect high three bytes, consistent across at least three
SIMMs. With nothing in U0502, it just hangs after "Memory Test".
So I guess I'm going to go bring home some _other_ SLC/ELC boards. But
that will take at least a half-day, probably at least a day, likely
more.
