The 530-1855 is listed in the September 2000 FEH as being a 1.6 metre
cable for attaching the 501-1840 card to its corresponding enclosure.
(The 2003 edition of the FEH lists 530-1896 as a 0.8 metre cable for the
same purpose.)
The 501-1931 card, on the other hand, connects to the 540-2007 "patch
panel" via cable 530-1685, which is 2 or 3 metres in length depending on
which version of the FEH you're reading.
Unfortunately it doesn't say anything about whether or not the cables
are interchangeable. Maybe they only vary in length. Maybe not. All I
know is that they all use the same 96-pin high density connector.
