I fixed the syntax error, 

	/apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list  

Should all be one word and it should all be one line.

Now you get a prompt to click here to logon, and then you get a username
password prompt, so while it's not the same, and is a PITA, it's not a security
hole.
