I'm back again with yet more SPARCstation issues! This one I expect to
be a lot simpler than the ongoing SS1 thread.
I fired up my SS20 today and noticed it's developed a couple of issues.
One was a bad RAM module which I have removed and will replace later.
The second issue I'm not certain about is that I can't get a picture
out of it.
Looking in the serial output, I see "screen not found". My first
suspicion is that the extra-long module with the video RAM has gone
bad, but I'd like some confirmation that that would cause this symptom.
If that's the case, where's a good place to find replacements for
those, and what is the proper name I should search for?
If that's not a possible culprit, then does anyone have info on what
conditions could cause that message? Will this happen only when the
framebuffer itself is inoperable, or would that also happen if it were
functioning properly but there were no monitor connected?
