Hi all,

So far, I've tested 34 Sun systems in my collection, starting with the sun4 architecture pizzaboxes (and a 3/80). I thought I had already replaced quite some NVRAM batteries, but it was only a few. Of the 34 systems, I've now repaired ther NVRAM on 25 of them with more to come. I've made a video of the process I'm using: https://youtu.be/ESuSvCr06tU It's not for the faint of heart, I use little subtlety, but it seems to work well. It takes about 20~25 minutes for the whole process including soldering and reprogramming.

So far, things are going pretty well. A few drives are no longer spinning, a few SIMMs have broken, a CDROM player broke, and the worst is that one Ultra 1 doesn't work, seems some kind of problem overheating things and the PSU shutting down. But I have other U1's. All the other systems I could repair quite easily. I think the ELC/SLC and lunchboxes will probably not be fairing as well but we'll see.

Meanwhile I am also trying to sell non-Sun stuff. I've sold an Indy, a broken(!) and a working O2. I also have a VAXstation 3100, Digital DNARD, Altos 886, Apple Iic and possibly some more boring pee cee stuff that I need to check first.

Walter.
