Solaris 10 won't run, but Solaris 11 will ( + OpenBSD and Linux). They still rock OpenBoot 4, so work the same way the v880 does. They use iLOM for remote management, the design is a bit... weird but there is no licensing (unlike IDRAC/ILO). I'd say go for it!
