[rescue] SS10SX Value

Hi

People interested in Sun's aren't trying to run modern OS to be honest. It's the fun of using older systems and playing around with the hardware. New systems are available for when you need power ;-)

I think a SS10SX with 4 processors and a full RAM set with hard drive could sell for 300 GBP in the UK. I've seen a few recently with dual processors that sold very quickly. Its rare to see a 4 processor system and as I said before finding a full set of 64M DIMMS and the VRAM is not trivial.

The UK is different to the US of course - its a smaller market but the machines are harder to find.

Dont worry about frame buffer resolutions, 1152x900 is ok on older LCD screens, particularly HP monitors which used to cater for some very weird resolutions.

Just my 2c

Cheers

Ian
