[rescue] Any users of MacPorts?

I have recently become enamored of the PowerMac G5 and picked up a few of
these beasts. I noticed the userland was quite old and for instance the ssh
was so old there were no ciphers in common with my more modern systems.

Has anyone ever used MacPorts.org to remedy this? Curious if it is a good
option to use.
