You could buy a U80 pre-configured from the factory with four heads, but no more.

either 2x UPA + 2x PCI or 1x UPA + 3x PCI per the marketing literature

I assume this is why we did not see a v880z-equivalent in the E250/E450 era.   The E450 wouldn't have added anything but disk trays and bulk.
