In general, be careful bypassing those.  Depending on the system, they
are sometimes there for good reason.  Some cases are designed for
airflow assuming a closed case; if you defeat the interlock and run
them with the case open, you may get insufficient airflow past some
pieces to keep them sufficiently cool.

I don't know whether the E450 is an example.  Just feel I should at
least raise the possibility.
