Hello all,
Just got my first Ultra machine - an Ultra 60. It is absolutely filthy - but seems to be in good physical shape.
I have been going through the official service manual PDF - and removing various pieces to clean them.
The CPU shroud has defeated me so far though.
I removed the PSU, 2 sticks of RAM closest to the shroud. I took out the shroud fan, and the CPUs themselves. I completely loosened the two captive screws on the shroud and released the lever on the bottom near the PCI slots.
It just seems like I am still missing something. The part with the captive screw nearest the front seems to have come up a bit and is loose. The rear though is digging it’s heels in. It’s almost like there are tabs or pegs on the motherboard that I would need to move in a cardinal direction ? There is nothing more in the service manual that I *haven’t* done.
Would love some clue - I’m trying really hard to not get frustrated and break something.
Thanks.
