[rescue] Ultra 60 hang on boot with new RAM

I have a dual-450MHz Ultra 60 with FFB2+ that works great with its stock 256MB of RAM (4x 64MB 501-2480 modules in bank 3); however, when I try to swap in 4x 128MB 501-3136 modules, no matter the bank, and no matter the quantity (e.g. one through four sets of 4x 501-3136) the system hangs after “Initializing Memory.” It’ll go through POST just fine, even with dial-level set to max, just not boot.

Anyone have any ideas? It was on OpenBoot 3.23, is this something where updating to 3.31 (the final release for Ultra 60) would help? I’m planning to do that anyway, but any other advice would be helpful.
