[rescue] ZX Framebuffer

I thought I'd have a go at using a ZX framebuffer on a sparcstation 2. The framebuffer installs ok and I see the 'lion' logo on boot up so looks promising.

So I then did a fresh install of Solaris 2.5 with everything selected.

I guess I was expecting the ZX framebuffer to be auto detected in the same way as the GX/TGX and devices installed, but this doesnt seem to have happened.

When I reboot I get the console buffer, and I can see /opt/SUNWleo is installed, however there is no contents. OpenWin etc doesnt run because it cant find the fb.

Doing a bit of digging - I manually installed all packages with SUNWleo in the name but that doesnt seem to help.

Is there a step I'm missing? I'm wondering if I need to manually configure something in /dev/fb etc.

I've got a few sparcstations with TGX frame buffers so thought I'd give something different a try
