I don't know the topology of the SPARClassic, but on some systems, the 
controller is in the "middle" of the SCSI bus, between external and 
internal connectors, and a terminator is expected at both ends. Possibly 
you need an external terminator as well as having termination enabled on 
the SCSI2SD.
