Hello Joshua,

I suspect that the lack of compatibility might be largely due to my understanding that most of them aren't strictly and properly engineered, in a literal sense. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to lessen the effort people have put into bringing those things to life!

Performance is also an issue.

I'm currently trying to learn how to beat FreeBSD into submission exporting a file as SCSI target via parallel SCSI. Documentation is scarce, people trying it left out many important bits in their writings, where things can go wrong and how to check along the way. And most of bits and loose ends Google picks up from sites is for older versions of FreeBSD. I at least expect decent performance from such a solution.

:wq! PoC
