>From Sun specifically, the P1 and P2 are bussed differently. It's
documented in the backplane manuals.
For instance:

has drawings for the 9 and 15-slots backplane (2/120 and 2/170), and
some schematics.
P1 is fully busses, P2 is broken in subsection.
