Wow the memoriesb& I was once something of an expert (formerly a drip under
pressure??) on Macintosh LCs. At one point I owned (count em) 12 different
LCs! I adore the LC475 and Q605. They were really genuinely well designed
little machines. The expansion slot is PDS (essentially direct into the CPU
bus) so you can shoehorn all kinds of crazy stuff in it, even a PowerPC
upgrade! I even had one that lived in a desk drawer as a web-server back in
the wild-west days.
Ibm tempted to reclaim mine from the person I gave/loaned it to.
Re the battery thing - worth of note:
= Indeed, if the PRAM batter is dead it wonbt turn on, but therebs a neat
dodge for it. If you turn it on, let the disk settle down then very quickly
flip it off then back on it will start up, as the PRAM subsystem will have
sufficient voltage to be fooled into thinking it has the right voltage.
