I never had trouble with b134 on amd64.  I never got OpenSolaris going
on SPARC.  After they killed OpenSolaris, I decided to stick with the
last Solaris Express they made and wait until either OpenIndiana or
Solaris Express 11 were available to re-evaluate then.
