I liked OBP...due to it being moderately standard across vendors. ;)

OpenBoot was opensourced.  It can be tossed in to linuxbios so it's 
THEORETICALLY POSSIBLE to get OBP on x86 sun gear.  Might involve a reflow 
oven, though.
