Man, if any of these were near Atlanta (where I live) I'd drive and
pick it up (as long as it was
a BA chassis so I could run the 450's in it...) I'd love to have a
Sun like this that I could host in my
garage with the ability to load a bunch of SCSI storage in one box.
I loved the first E450 I got at a
couple of companies ago....the E220R and E420R just don't have the
bay's that I'd like (and the
E250 that I had simply bothered me that it had what looked like could
be oodles of drive bays
and ended up being "spacers"...)

BTW, I'm still looking for some Sun 3/110 boards... I've got some Sun
3/140 and memory boards
to swap... (figured it's been a while since I asked). I'm also
looking for the front skins for a 2/120

I will be doing some trouble shooting on my 2/120 when I finally get
some time to begin it's restoration
(and will be doing the same on the 3) so be prepared to hear basic
questions about how to rebuild a power
supply for the 2/120...(after a close inspection of the existing
backplane, and disassembly and reassembly
...after traveling across country, I want to make sure everything is
together well, and want to understand
how to take it apart and put it back together again..... isn't that
the first thing a rescuer does? 8-) )
I'm a CS not EE.... though I do wield a mean soldering iron... but
have little experience with power
supplies and replacing capacitors in them...(or troubleshooting to
know if that indeed is the problem...)
