But rest assured, there are some out there which have had to be worked

But this is talking about something an app creator did.

The original posting (and some others) I responded to was implying
pretty strongly that the fault was with groff.

Since groff doesn't have a NIH problem, and tries very hard to be
compatible, I thought it needed defending.
