Up until last year I was one of the guys here who administered the PCB CAD
workstations around the company. We didn't use the tools we used (two
windows and one unix package) because they were good (or bad) per se but
because of the perception that our designers (they were a PCB design bureau)
MUST be able to speak the same CAD-language as our customers. In some cases
with large clients that was a contractal requirement.

We also had to be able to use multiple versions of the same CAD tool on
demand. Easy in Unix, of course, a bit (hah) more difficult with Windows.
