Two or three years ago, my elder sister was trying in vain to convince
prospective employers that there WAS nobody out there with 10 years of
Java experience, and anyone who claimed to have 10 years of Java was
lying, because Java hadn't EXISTED for ten years yet. It was futile.

"You can't get ten years of Java experience. Java hasn't existed for
 ten years yet."

"It hasn't? But ... [BRAIN RESETS] ...We have to have ten years' Java
experience. It's in the requirements. Company policy says we have to
 ask for it."

"You can ask all you want! Java is only six years old!"

"Really? Uh ... [BRAIN RESETS] Sorry, but it's company policy. It's
 in the requirements."
