Which is not a problem per se; that's how innovation happens.  I know I
often enough write in gcc rather than C, and usually make no apology
for it when I do.
The real problem is people who write in gcc thinking they're writing in
C, or write assuming all the world is a peecee running Linux without
even realizing it - sloppy/ignorant/incompetent/etc coders, in short.
And I fear bad coders will always be with us. :-(
