Terminal servers have saved me many a trip into the office at 3am
so I don't HAVE to plug in directly.
Watching tivo in my jammies and logging billable hours beats
scraping the windows for a 3am drive to work, even though you'll
never get a closer parking spot...
If I really want to connect directly, I just pull off the serial
cable from the terminal server and plug into the console directly
with a laptop or terminal or plug the laptop or terminal
directly into the other terminal server and attach to the desired port.
I haven't eliminated the ability to connect directly. I've
just reduced the need.
