They'll do a couple things:

Adjust grip so that it fits your hand better,
Coat it with an impenetrable coating,
round off that silly trigger guard prong

basically any Glock thing you can dream up.

They're great guns; you'll be happy. How old is the one you got? It's in
the old style box.
