[geeks] streaming audio/video

At some point I think it would be fun to
set up a server that offers streaming audio
and/or video. Not sure what the content
could be (ideas?) but maybe something appealing
to the general populace.

Has anyone set up anything like that before
who is on the list? I run into these 2
solutions:

http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/
http://www.icecast.org/

To do this, what would be the minimum
cpu to have as a server and what type
of service (adsl ok?) ?
