~ Those used leaf springs for suspension, didn't they.  Would it be
~ possible to upgrade to coil springs, and would that provide much
~ improvement?  Also, what about lightening it.  Say by using lighter
~ aftermarket bucket seats, replacing the hood and trunk with fiberglass
~ ones, etc.

The smaller mopars used the wonderfull torsion bar front suspension and leaf
rears. I think the big cars used a coil front and leaf rear.
